Callidus Management Consulting Ltd was founded by Richard Walker following a successful career in Housing Services spanning two decades and covering large Housing Associations, ALMOs and Local Authorities. Since setting up Callidus Management Consulting, Richard has predominantly operated in the private sector, providing business and process management consultancy services, helping organisations win tenders, develop new and existing processes to streamline operations and get great value for money whilst delivering exceptional customer service.

Richard Walker has over 20 years experience within the Housing Management market, starting his career as a Housing Trainee whist studying at University, Richard quickly progressed through the ranks, undertaking roles including Rent Collector and Estate Management Officer along the way.
In 2004 he became Assistant Director of Neighbourhood Management for Rotherham's ALMO, helping set the organisation up and gain the star rating it required in order to draw down over £300M to deliver the Decent Homes programme. During 2007/8 he covered the Director of Neighbourhood Management position, leading the Directorate through a second successful Audit Commission inspection.
In 2009 Richard took his senior management experience to deliver a new challenge with West North West homes Leeds, where he later became Deputy Chief Executive and Head of Housing/Customer Services. Here he turned around a number of failing areas and helped the organisation improve it's Audit Commission rating, securing funding to complete the Decent Homes programme. Richard spent over 4 years in Leeds, receiving a variety of externally assessed accreditations and delivering a number of innovative projects.
In 2013 Richard took up the position of Regional Director (North) with Metropolitan Housing Trust. Here he turned around the organisation's faltering rent arrears performance and provided clear leadership on the organisation's approach to the Welfare Reforms, ensuring both received positive internal audit results. In addition, he transformed the complaints process, resulting in vastly reduced complaints escalations and also rent lost through voids.
In 2012 Richard joined Unity Homes and Enterprise, a BME Housing Association in Leeds, as a non-executive Director, where he has also been Chair of the Operations Committee and currently sits on the Audit and Risk Committee as well as a position on the main Board.
He holds a 2:1 (HONS) Degree in Housing Studies and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Service Management.
Richard is also trained as a Customer Service Excellence Assessor and can offer consultancy services to anyone wishing to obtain this accreditation.
Richard is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and the Chartered Management Institute.
Richard has been a member of British Mensa Ltd since the age of 13.
